What are other peoples favorites

TheEvilDoctor

My favourites are, in no particular order:
Monty python and the holy grail (anything by MP actually, except for the meaning of life which had 1 or 2 good parts)
Dr. Strangelove (It's not the time to be hysterical!)
The burbs (Me, the boy and my brother, THE DOCTOR)
Braindead/Dead Alive (Your mother ate my dog! well not all of it)
The cable guy, Man on the moon (almost anything with Jim Carrey but these 2 are my favourites, even if man on the moon is more like a drama with some comedy)
Brazil (Absurdity to the max)

Well that's 7 :)

I didn't know Brazil was a comedy, though I haven't seen it, I got the impression that it was just really wierd.

I really like Zoolander, pretty much everyone I know loves that movie [and unfortunatley quotes it all the time]

some of the others already mentioned are favourites as well.

Ace Ventura and it's sequel is also pretty damn funny.

I'm laughing just thinking about them all!

Mr. Hockstatter

1)  A Fish Called Wanda
2)  Heathers
3)  Four Weddings and a Funeral
4)  Spaceballs
5)  Raising Arizona

Well, that's off the top of my head.  I'm sure 5 minutes from now I'll be like "D'oh, how could I forget..."

TheEvilDoctor

Brazil is more like a satire but it's pretty funny :)

Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy

Ed Wood

Cannibal: The Musical

Zoolander

...and that's all I can think of at the moment. I'm not at home and can't look through my DVD's.

Gotta have a Marx Brothers in there,  I'll say

A Night at the Opera
Airplane!
Dr. Stangelove ("There's no fighting here, this is the War Room")
Blues Brothers (but is this a comedy, action movie, or musical; or all three rolled into one?  It slices, it dices, it makes Juliene fries.  But wait, there's more:  for no extra charge you get to see Illinios Nazis jump in the river!)
and
Monty Python and the Holy Grail

If I can count a couple of groups of movies as one (since they are difficult to decide between):

The Marx Brothers movies
The Hope/Crosby Road Pictures (with the exception of "Road to Hong Kong," which was pretty lame)
The Evil Dead series
Dead Alive
Monty Python and the Holy Grail

and some runners up just because I watched them recently:

Cannibal Women in the Avacado Jungle of Death
Mom and Dad Save the World (Hail Emperor Tod!)
Bringing Up Baby

Why has nobody mentioned Young Frankenstein?

The Burgomaster

In no particular order:

1.  Broadway Danny Rose
2.  Duck Soup
3.  Some Like it Hot
4.  The Odd Couple
5.  Lost in America

Ask me again tomorrow, and I'll probably come up with a slightly different list.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Dumb and  dumber?  Everybody's tastes are different I guess., but nothing with Jim Carrey would even approach the top 1000 for me.

There are too many  I love, but in my opinion  the number one funniest movie ever made is Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Eirik

No particular order:

Strangelove
Caddyshack
Airplane
The Jerk
Revenge of the Pink Panther

Honorable Mention: Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, but you HAVE to be a fan of old 1940s detective flicks or you won't like it at all.

Damn, how could I forget Caddy Shack.  Or, d'oh, Animal House (but I'm only putting 1 Belushi movie on the list, there are too many good ones from too many different styles)
