If you rent this, whatever you do make sure you've drank some coffee or taken a stimulant of some kind.

If not...you WILL fall asleep!

I can think of no other film that induces sleep like this one.  (I'm referring to the newer version with George Clooney)

It was an ok movie but the dialogue is almost always spoken at very low levels.
Sometimes no one speaks for minutes at a time.

I dozed off twice while watching this and I was wide awake when I put it in the DVD player.

Forget about counting sheep....just put this movie in and you'll be out in no time!

I couldn't agree more.  The only reason I stayed awake  all the way through is because I liked the young crazy talking guy and was hoping he would pop up and amuse me.

Apparently from the various reviews and box office, you are not alone Ashthecat when you say SOLARIS is a movie that induces sleep. One wonders why the original Russian 70's version wasn't good enough for the cinema world.

Yet George Clooney said, to my knowledge, that nobody wants to watch a Russian subtitled film. What next Clooney, your version is better? Ha!

Well, I enjoyed it. Not that the whole thing made much sense, and true, it was a bit boring at some stages, but it was beautifully shot (for instance, the scene were Clooney dreams his wife into life is fantastic) and had much more substance than it may seem on the surface. True, a film not for everyone, but not the waste of celluloid many people say.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.
