This TV shut down

Earlier this year. 'Twas one of the first digital subnets; used to show some pretty good (and bad) movies from the MGM library back in the day.

RIP, This TV. I'll try to not forget you. :(

Never heard of this. I wonder if the closing down had to do with Amazon's purchase of MGM.

Doing a bit of digging to see if that's the reason. Here's what I found; it's just Wikipedia links, but Wikipedia's probably good enough for now:

MGM sold This TV about 4 years ago:

On October 28, 2020, Byron Allen's Allen Media Group (which also controls Entertainment Studios) announced that it would be buying This TV and Light TV from MGM.[11] After the transition, This TV launched a permanent high-definition master feed, allowing its affiliates to carry the network in a widescreen format for the first time.

Could be Amazon stopped licensing MGMS' library to This, or Amazon raised MGM's prices. Would need more research to figure out exactly what happened.

Someone on another forum said This only aired old weather shows when they shut down. :(
