1992 movie functions as a time capsule of a brief era in one place, Seattle, slightly before grunge made it cool. Funny how easy it is to forget the "other" '90s, that brief period in the Bush years when the economy was in the tank before the Clinton years boom, and outlooks were grim, and telling Gen-X-ers how hard life was for them was raised to high art.

So, yeah, more of almost a sociological time capsule than a movie, but still enjoyable. And everyone looked so young!
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

I thought SINGLES looked lame when it was released and had no expectations for it, but watched it on cable when it debuted there. Campbell Scott (who I was unfamiliar w/ at the time) made a big impression on me. I still think he's a very good actor, though he never reached the heights I expected of him in the 90s. He's really excellent in MRS. PARKER & THE VICIOUS CIRCLE from a couple years later...

Soundtrack has perhaps outlived the film?
