some episodes of TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED had really dark/shocking endings

The tear-jerking, sad, sad, sad Futurama about Fry's dog, who waited for him back in our time. I can almost feel tears in my eyes right now just writing about that.

I wouldn't call that shocking so much as it was heart breaking.  

I think the show was Las Vegas, but one of the main characters, played by Laura Flyn Boyle, gets caught up in a wind storm and flies off the top of a building.  Shocking and one of the weirdest ways to kill off one of the main leads.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...
