This film - derived from a popular SA radio serial and later a photo-comic story - tells the story of a doctor, sentenced to almost a decade of prison time due to the death of his wife while in his care who is released on parole and on returning to his home town is treated like a leper and an outcast by all except his parents who have been caring for his young son during his period of incarceration.

Emotionally scarred by the community's rejection of him and in desperate need to look after his parents and son, he joins a mercenary outfit in the Congo as a medic, only to have his young son take the road in search of him. And here begins South Africa's first "road movie".

A very good movie, directed by my career mentor David Millin ASC.
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.
