"I have been searching for a poem I read in college about a person finding the road to Heaven, and smugly noting how overgrown it was with grass and weeds. When he looks closer, he sees that each blade of grass is a knife blade or shard of glass, and decides to go down the other path.  Googles hasn't helped, and no, it is not the Frost poem about 2 roads diverging.  Anyone have an idea of what it is?"

think I found it....

The Road To Heaven

I went on the road to heaven
And when I got to heaven
It had loads of weeds
And it was really overgrown
And when I looked closer
I saw the grass was glass
And that rhymes with grass
But it's sharper than grass
And I didn't want to cut myself
So I took the other path
And that's the end of the poem.

Kamala's campaign was doomed because of how they tried to do it.

If Biden had said a year ago "Okay I'm old as f**k I'm not gonna run again" they could have had a conventional primary and maybe Kamala would have won or maybe not.

This is the United States, you can't just appoint someone and say "here, she's as good as the one you guys elected".

Let's be real for a minute, I guess.

Lester, or whatever your name is in truth, my name's Seth.

I'm a doctor, I work in the state of Washington.  I have a family, including two daughters and a son.  I do the usual doctor work day to day.  Some of my colleagues in the east of the state take care of women who come over from Idaho because they can't get women's health care where they are -- because the ob/gyns have left their counties, due to inability to practice medicine safely and ethically.

On the issue of my daughters, alone, I have been working my way through anxiety that I can feel in my body, due to the result of this election.  On the issue of women's rights, alone -- let's leave all other considerations aside -- I feel nausea at what may be in our country.

I'm a stone-faced, unflappable physician, known even by other doctors for being steady under fire.  I don't have much anxiety day to day, and what anxiety I have stays put until my work is done.  I'm 20 years at this.  I know how to manage my anxiety.

So.  Yeah, you get to throw my words back in my face.

I'm a human being.  My daughters are human beings too.  And the people who voted in Donald Trump don't believe that my daughters are human beings who deserve the same rights to determine their destiny that men have.

Be very, very careful in replying to me, if you choose to, in your understanding of what I have written here.   What I have written here is not bad movies frivolity -- it is what I am actually about.  it is what I care about most.

Omfg.

It means, please have respect that I have feelings, and that to me, this is a lot bigger than it seems to be to you.  What the actual f**k did you think I meant, Lester?  That I was threatening you?   I'm a Washington doctor, not some MAGA gun totin' crank with two huge American flags on the truck I don't own.

it's definitely a symptom of the whole picture, that what I said was taken as meaning some kind of personal threat.       My "side" of things is not the side making threats against the welfare of individuals.

Anyway.   I'll now disregard this thread, I don't need any of this and I was a fool to try to explain anything.
