ER - have you read any of Bart ehrman's stuff? IMO the nature of the church changed a great deal from Christ's time to the later 1st century when it became more established. Poly carp was a man of his times

Also, the apostles were illiterate peasants who spoke Aramaic. the idea that they wrote in sophisticated greek is pretty fanciful
