Yes, the most depressing song ever recorded. But, I love it.

If you saw the movie, the theme from Love Story is up there too.

"White Dress" by Kenny Marks

(Couldn't find it on Youtube, even though I know there's a video for it.)

Anyway, Marks is a Christian Music artist, but don't let that fool you, the song doesn't really have anything to do with religion (at least not that I can see).  It's just a very, VERY sad story.  If you want to read the lyrics, you can click here:

I warn ya though, even without the music it's a pretty sad story, more so cause it happens a lot I'm sure.

I generally really dig Dan Tyminski as an artist/musician, but absolutely cannot listen to "Please Dear Mommy;" it's a song about a little girl who kills herself because her parents are fighting.

Professor Hathaway:  I noticed you stopped stuttering.
Bodie:      I've been giving myself shock treatments.
Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.

I always thought Bryan Adam's "Summer of 69" was really depressing, but then again, maybe that's just me.

Funny, I always thought it was uplifiting because he's reflecting on a fun time.  Kind of like Bruce Springstein in Glory Days.

This would be an inspiring or uplifting song, except, the character who sings this in OLIVER! (the film or show) gets murdered...by the person she's singing about!!  :buggedout: :bluesad:

I've always found that song amusing because Bryan Adams was born November 5, 1959. That means all his reminiscing is for his summer as a 9-year-old.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

A companion song for this would be WILDFIRE by Michael Martin Murphy.

76?) Maybe not so depressing to some, but this song has a really sad atmosphere  (especially at the end):
