Yes, oh child of the 70s... you're up!
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Too late, RC, Javakoala beat you!  I could have used "this movie shares its name with a classic rock band" as a hint but it might have given it away.

I think RC was doing a comparison joke.

I once read a play about Vietnam, and one character asked another what book he was reading. "Steppenwolf." "Oh, wow, man. You mean someone wrote a book about the band? I'd read something like that."

I personally enjoyed the fact the film was made in the early 70's and they unearthed it in the mid-80's, released it on video and dolled up the cover to make it look recent.  Cheating weasels.

I'll post a pic in a minute or two.

Okay, Menaaard.  If the funky teeth freaked you out, don't EVEN look at this.

Possibly gross.

I'll take a wild guess...

The Devil's Rain (1975)

Javakoala

Not "The Devil's Rain"

This starred a couple of formerly respectable actors, directed by a long-time crap film actor and is definitely one of the more twisted and gruesome films out there. It has been hard-to-find on DVD.  Look at what you DON'T see in the picture to get a hint.

Reazione a catena?
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067656/

Mario Bava is a long-time crap film actor turned director?

Nope, Javakoala said it stars a few respectable actors...
But yeah, Reazione a catena does not have any respectable actor in it so..yeah.
I didn't pay attention to that part.

AND NOW THE SCREAMING STARTS (1973)?
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

Javakoala

no winners yet.

It was made in 1976.  You might say that some of the folks in the film were "blinded" by the brilliance of this film. And, no, there is no light reference intended here.
