THE MAN FROM LARAMIE (1955) - Classic Western directed by Anthony Mann and starring Jimmy Stewart. This is one of the very few great Westerns that I've yet to see and it was a good one. Kind of a mystery Western that has a number of characters to keep you wondering who's doing what. Even Jimmy Stewarts purpose is slowly revealed. The film is shot in New Mexico and in Technicolor. Won't tell you to much more about the story, so you can find see it for your self.

  (8 out of 10 Stars)  Really enjoyed this film.

Mofo Rising

I watched this because Patton Oswalt mentioned it as one of the greatest westerns of all time on his comedy album.

Not bad at all, I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

I hope this doesn't give too much away, but this is Shakespeare's "King Lear" done as a western. With Donald Crisp as Lear and Jimmy Stewart, Arthur Kennedy, and Alex Nicol, as his three sons. And I use the term "sons" in a figurative sense.

BoyscoutKevin, starting to find more of the 1950's Anthony Mann Westerns on TV. All great films so far. Highly recommended.
