The Shawshank Redemption and Kagemushu are two movies that really get me involved with the characters and the stories, I could watch either film over and over again and still enjoy them.

Does Superman: The Movie count as a serious film? I know it has campy elements, but underneath it all there's (to me anyway) a genuinely moving story, and Lex Luthor can be a pretty scary villain when he wants to be.

Runners-up would be Eight Millimeter, and The Poseidon Adventure.

Medicine Man. For some reason that is one of the most re-watchable movies I have.
Raw bacon is GREAT! It's like regular bacon, only faster, and it doesn't burn the roof of your mouth!
