This is Katsuhiro Otomo's follow up to his anime masterpiece Akira.  It looks really good  and some of it is quite stunning from the trailer and clips.

Sony says the release date is 3/18/05. I just hope it comes here so I can see it in a theater.  I like the subject matter, as I have stated before I enjoy the whole steam punk thing.

The US version is dubbed and features Anna Paquin (who plays the lead which is a boy),  Alfred Molina, and Patrick Stewart.  I found it funny that at the Sony site the clips were in Japanese with subtitles.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Finally saw a trailer for this on a DVD recently.  I can't wait to finally get a chance to check it out.  I love the look of the animation from what I've seen.  Looks to be a bit more on the lines of Metropolis than the original Akira.

I have nothing but faith in Katsuhiro Otomo.  Seems that everyone over at AITCN.com is pretty happy with the flick as well.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Yeah cant wait for this one either. Trek Geezer it all depends on were you live when it comes to Asian and Anime movies. If its going to have a whats considerd a "big release" in Asian and Anime world one (and I mean just one)of the major cineplexes should have it. Theirs even a chance that won't happen either. Other then that a small art house theather should have it. Since I live in NYC I never have a problem getting to see any movie :)
