Worst Directors With Great Ideas

I saw someone say this about Wes Craven in another forum I frequent. I can't say I agree as I enjoy a lot of Craven's directorial efforts a lot. But I figured it would make for a fun thread topic  :cheers:

On that note it seems like that about sums up some folks' view of Ed Wood. At their core some of his films were interesting and to a degree even innovative. But due to budget and talent restraints none of them came out that great.

Plan 9 probably would've been entertaining in a way that it was meant to be instead of unintentional comedy gold, if it had a decent budget

Always felt that Wes Craven did good movies, but he often did the endings badly.

I agree with you on Ed Wood, a man whose vision far outstripped his talent. Still, it would have been interesting to see what he could have done had he ever made a big budget movie.
