I like JOHN WAYNE movies.
STAGECOACH (1939) is on TCM right now.
It's followed by TRUE GRIT (1969) at 9:45 est or so.

I never cared for John Wayne...I dunno why, as I'm a fan of westerns.
Go figure.
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)
Interviewer-"Does Dracula ever end for you?
Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

John Wayne reminds me of my grandpa. My grandpa reminded me of John Wayne.

I saw a bit of STAGECOACH.  It is loaded with talent like CLAIRE TREVOR THOMAS MITCHELL JOHN CARRADINE DONALD MEEK ,,,
Then I watched TRUE GRIT.  I enjoy it, despite KIM DARBY (little dear).  Her character is annoying and supposed to be.

Fill your hand you son of a b***h.
John Wayne as Rooster Cogburn to Robert Duvall as Lucky Ned Pepper in True Grit.
(IMHO) No one could put more meaning into swearing than this.

I remember well... that you don't care for JOHN WAYNE.  In a way, I can dig it.  Yet, I enjoy too many of his movies to deny it.  Plus I can't tell you how delighted I was to see JOHN WAYNE on the TV show Maude ...

I read at Wikipedia glowing compliments from KIM DARBY about working with JOHN WAYNE ... and also that he and ROBERT DUVALL did not get along and almost came to blows...

I love John Wayne westerns . . . and westerns in general. I don't think a month goes by that I don't watch a John Wayne DVD or two. Very entertaining.
