As did ROSEMARY'S BABY- the OMEN, I DON'T WANT TO BE BORN

hmm. I wouldn't call THE OMEN a rip off of ROSEMARY'S BABY for the simple reason that RB does not focus on the actual child at all really...

however I would call I DON'T WANT TO BE BORN a rip off of THE OMEN :)

edit - well, I would do, except apparently IDWTBB came before THE OMEN!... doh.

Yeah- your right on Rosemary...as for the OMEN- I thought that came first!  :buggedout:
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)

the COSMIC MAN (1959) is a rip of THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL (1951), with John Carradine in the Michael Rennie role.
FRIDAY THE 13th was a rip off of HALLOWEEN. From the title to the indestructible masked killer.
the EVIL DEAD was a rip-off of EQUINOX (1970). Even down to the tape recorder and the Book of the Dead.

The First Blood/Rambo rip off Trilogy. Thunder/Thunder Warrior

I have seen the first two but have yet to find the third film in the serious (only copy I've found was in Italian with no subtitles).

Sad what happened to Mark Gregory who was also Trash in ESCAPE FROM THE BRONX.

yeah me too, strange...

a few of the Italian directors jumped on the 'evil child' genre, I guess Bava's SHOCK probably counts, and Fulci's MANHATTAN BABY definitely does (that film is mad!)

there's another mid-70s one.. it's called something like LUCY'S EYES (?) and it's one of the worst films ever. filmed in a kind of red/green filter for some reason (to make it scary?)

^ I thought of SHOCK too. And the insane CATHY'S CURSE.

hahaha, that's the film I meant.... (Lucy's Eyes? well I knew there was a girl's name...)

I wonder how many slashers copied Mario Bava's BLOOD AND BLACK LACE (1964) and BAY OF BLOOD (1971)?

SHE FREAK (1967) was a direct rip off FREAKS (1932). Right down to the circus performers disfiguring the villainess at the end.

The often unspoken genre of Home Alone rip offs:

Now we could 100% argue Home Alone is a rip off of a French film called Deadly Games (1989) aka 3615 code Père Noël but with Home Alone being the bigger name....we will go with that.
To be fair, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead is decent enough, despite being a knockoff.
"The path to Heaven runs through miles of clouded Hell."

Don't get too close, it's dark inside.

All those insanely stupid movies about animals playing sports. I believe it all started with AIR BUD but I may be wrong.

^I'm pretty sure Disney in the 60's or 70's did some critters playing sports . I'm trying to remember them. HELP!

The three Chinese made rip offs of The Gods Must Be Crazy with their hopping vampires  :buggedout: :buggedout:

^ What? The hopping vampires are a Chinese thing through history. How does that rip off the GODS MUST BE CRAZY? Sorry Trev- but I see no connection at all. I don't recall any hopping vampires in the GODS MUST BE CRAZY at all. Hopping vampires have been a thing in Chinese cinema for decades. HUH?
If you're talking about an isolated civilization being disrupted by an advanced civilization- that's not a rip off- that's a common trope in many films.

Three rip off sequels were made after The Gods Must Be Crazy 2, one called CRAZY SAFARI which was made here and two others made in, China. All three of those feature hopping vampires.
