Original and good, but absolutely not what I was lead to expect the movie was, and that's all I will say.
I REALLY want to see this one!
Gripping Stone Age Survivalist Horror
Now that's a tag line you won't read often.
My only gripe from watching the trailer is the humans have clean, modern facial features. 40,000 years ago they most likely looked like this

A bit on the rugged side, and taller than Neanderthals.
Anyway, I might have to check this out. Never heard of this film before, though.
I felt like it veered into the wrong directions, but it also got a lot right. It may be one of those movies I need to see again to solidify my fuller appreciation for it being what it was, as opposed to what I thought it would be. It represented one of the periods I have spent a fair amount of time contemplating, and one I think gets misrepresented in popular thought. I suspect our distant ancestors were amazing people we have little business condescending to, and whose lives were more complex than they'll ever be given credit for.
Certainly looks interesting! I have only seen the trailer, and I agree with the choice of depicting them as modern humans. This might not be entirely historically accurate, but it stresses the point that stone age people weren't some misshapen brutes going 'ooga' all the time, but were just as articulate and smart as us.
